About this event

The Naija Drone Soccer League (NDSL) held its North Central Open Combine at Starville School, Jahi II, in Abuja on 29 October 2026. It was the first stop of the league's 2026 Open Combines, a tour of regional combines across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. The tour then moved to Gombe on 30 October. The North Central combine welcomed students from Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau and the FCT. State teams in the league are formed through open combines. Players aged 12 to 18 can join through their school's programme or as individual participants, then trial for a place on their state team. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the combines were planned to feature demonstrations, equipment displays and technical engagements, and technical experts from the United States were to take part to demonstrate drone soccer and share technical knowledge. The league says the aim is to introduce young Nigerians to the sport and promote STEM education. NDSL is headquartered in Abuja and focuses on secondary schools. Players register through the league website, and the team then sends combine details for each state.
